FAQ

I am an out-of-network provider, which means that I do not work directly with insurance companies. However, many insurance policies offer substantial coverage for out-of-network providers, often covering 50 to 80% of services. I will provide you with an invoice that contains all of the information needed to apply for reimbursement from your insurance provider and will do my best to provide you with any assistance you need in this process. If you are unsure of your benefits I am happy to try and help you make sense of them if you provide me a copy of your insurance policy, and I am also happy to help you with the paperwork the first time you submit a claim for reimbursement.

While I will assist you to the best of my ability, I believe it is a good idea to contact your insurance company directly prior to your first appointment to get a clear sense of your benefits. The following questions may be beneficial to ask:

  • Do I have out-of-network benefits?
  • What is my out-of-network deductible and has it been met?
  • Once I meet my out-of-network deductible, what percentage of services will be reimbursed?
  • Is there a limit (sometimes referred to as a usual-and-customary rate or an allowed amount) to how much my insurance will pay for each session?
  • Is there are limit to the number of sessions covered per calendar year?

I will discuss my fees during the initial phone consultation. I request payment at the time of service and accept cash, checks and all major credit and debit cards.

Individual and couples sessions are 45 minutes and group sessions are 75 minutes long.

There is no simple answer to this question. Some issues may be addressed in a handful of sessions, while other more complicated and entrenched issues may take much longer to fully work through. As a rule of thumb, recently occurring issues with specific symptoms are usually more quickly resolved than longstanding issues and/or issues that generate a wide range of symptoms.
